Sponsors and Grants
Our non-profit camp is a project of Seven Circles Retreat. The mission of the non-profit is "To provide a space where people of all ages, faiths, and ethnicities can gather for renewal, personal growth, and the opportunity to work together to build strong community and civil society, in harmony with nature and sustainable principals." The Director of Camp Badger, Sulfiati Harris, helped to find the location and set up the retreat center. She and her husband were the first of the group to move here in September of 2002.
Camp Badger has received a grant every year from Susila Dharma, an organization that funds projects in the United States and all around the world. Susila Dharma USA is a nonprofit organization that supports locally-initiated, humanitarian programs serving communities in the U.S. and around the world. Their mission as stated on their website: Susila Dharma USA encourages and empowers individuals and collaborative charitable projects to foster the development and fulfillment of human potential and healthy, sustainable communities. They have also helped us to write grants to get more financial support for the camp. More about this organization is at .
The cost of the camp is about $370 per camper. but we are charging only $270 per camper on the earlybird rate. One way we raise money is by selling chocolate bars in local establishments, which brings in a profit of at least $1500 a year. The rest has to come from the registration fees, so it is very important that that money come in well before camp starts. Note: We want to make this camp affordable for families that can't afford the pricier camps. Our cost of $300 is $200 less than the other camps in this area. We appreciate any help we can get!
The cost of camp is $270 per session. There is an easy monthly installment plan. When you register you can make a $20 down payment and the rest will be divided into monthly payments ending in June. We do have a fundraiser for campers to earn some of their registration fee, which is for discount cards for Papa Murphy's Pizza. More details later.

We are grateful for donations to the project. Our non-profit camp is a project of Seven Circles Retreat. All donations are tax-deductible.
This is a low income area, and it can be hard for families to send their children and teens to camp. We keep the cost low by subsidizing the camp with grants and by sales of chocolate. Many of the prospective campers are selling fundraising items to earn the money towards registration fees. Some will raise the whole amount, and others may need some extra help. We are very grateful for donations to the project. This money helps to cover campers registration fees so more low-income children and teens can attend camp. Many of these kids cannot afford to go to camp and actually have very little to do during summer vacation - this camp means a lot to them. They do creative projects, interact with kids from different backgrounds, and find out more about themselves and their unique talents.
